What this guide covers
This guide walks you through your first end-to-end workflow: upload a credit agreement, wait for extraction, review fields, approve results, and export to your loan system.
Before you start
- You have Analyst or Reviewer access.
- You have a sample credit agreement in PDF, Word, or scanned image format.
- Your loan system export connection is enabled by your admin.
Steps
-
Open Smartflow and select Upload Document. What to expect: You see a file picker and an upload queue.
-
Select your credit agreement file, then select Start Upload. What to expect: The document appears in the queue with status Uploaded.
-
Select the uploaded document and choose Run Extraction. What to expect: Status changes to Processing. Most files complete in under 5 minutes.
-
Wait for status Ready for Review. What to expect: You see extracted sections such as borrower, facility terms, pricing, and key dates.
-
Open Extraction Review and check fields marked Needs Review first. What to expect: Each field shows a confidence level and can be opened for detail.
-
Select a field to view its source clause. What to expect: The related text in the document is highlighted so you can verify provenance.
-
If a value is wrong, edit the field and save. What to expect: The field status updates to Verified after your confirmation.
-
When all required fields are verified, select Approve Extraction. What to expect: The document status changes to Approved.
-
Select Export and choose your configured loan system target. What to expect: You see export progress and then a success message with timestamp.
Tips
- Start with low-confidence fields to reduce rework later.
- Use source highlights to confirm values quickly.
- If export fails, save your review first, then retry export.
Troubleshooting
- Extraction takes longer than expected: Check file size and scan quality, then refresh status after 2-3 minutes.
- Missing values in review: Confirm the document was uploaded fully, then rerun extraction.
- Export button disabled: Confirm all mandatory fields are verified and approved.
